Iowa Tuition Grant

Students Receive up to $8,500 per School Year

The Iowa Tuition Grant offers qualifying Iowa families up to $8,500 per year for four years of attendance at an Iowa private college or university. In other words, if you or your student is considering attending an Iowa private institution, a total of $34,000 of assistance can be available over the course of a four-year degree program. The best part is that this is provided in the form of a grant – not a loan – so it does not need to be paid back. Also, the colleges match the funds you received through the Iowa Tuition Grant, doubling your award.

Eligibility Criteria is Minimal

The Iowa Tuition Grant is awarded to Iowa residents enrolled at one of Iowa’s eligible private colleges and universities. Recipients can receive grants for up to four years of full time, undergraduate study. Part time students may be eligible for adjusted amounts. Applicants must meet the following criteria: 

• Iowa resident
• Undergraduate enrollment
• Enrolled at an eligible Iowa private college or university
